Have you planned a multi-day hospital admission at UZ Gent? Then you can come to the pre-admission counter without an appointment. We will prepare the administrative and financial side of your admission together. This will make the admission itself go more smoothly.
When do I come to the pre-admission counter?
As soon as you know you will be admitted, for example immediately after a consultation, we will be happy to help you at the pre-admission counter. The counter is open every working day from 8 am to 5 pm.
- Report to a registration kiosk at the central reception (entrance 11)
- Select the pre-admission counter (preopnamebalie) and take the ticket
- Take a seat in the waiting room. When your number appears on the screen, go to the pre-admission counter.
You can also contact the pre-admission counter by phone or email.
- Tel. 09 332 20 15, every working day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- preopnamebalie@uzgent.be
What can I go there for?
A staff member at the pre-admission counter will explain the admission declaration and room choice, health insurance, hospital billing and payments and so on. You will get answers to questions such as:
- What administration do I need to take care of?
- Where should I register on the day of admission?
- How will I register at the hospital? How much time will it take?
- What will my admission cost approximately?
- What miscellaneous costs will be charged?
- Do I have to pay an advance?
- Where can I go if I need help or care after my discharge from hospital?
- What should I do for my hospitalisation insurance or other insurances?
- When will I receive and pay the bill?
- Can a relative stay in my room? How much does that cost?
- Can the bill be settled directly with my hospitalisation insurance?
Have you not yet received an admission brochure at the outpatient clinic? Then we will give it to you at the pre-admission counter. You can read it at home. If you still have questions, you are always welcome at the pre-admission counter.
