You can quickly draw up a cost estimate for various common treatments. This will give you an idea of the cost.
What you need to know in advance
- A cost estimate only gives you a guide price. The final bill may differ due to unforeseen circumstances. An estimate is therefore not binding.
- Are you affiliated with a health insurance fund (ziekenfonds) or the public health insurance fund (hulpkas)? Then the health insurance will cover a large part of the costs. That part is larger if you are entitled to enhanced reimbursement.
- Are you not affiliated with a health insurance fund or the public health insurance fund? Then consult the information about invoicing and reimbursement for patients who do not have Belgian health insurance.
- For costs that are not reimbursed by your health insurance, you can submit a request for reimbursement to your hospitalisation insurance. Notify your insurance company no later than the day of your admission.
- UZ Gent never invoices the workers' compensation insurance for the costs of a stay in a single room and personal expenses. However, you can submit these costs yourself. Whether the insurance reimburses them depends on the policy taken out by your employer.
Make the calculation yourself
