Hospitalisation Insurance
Do you have hospitalization insurance? Depending on your policy, UZ Gent will invoice either your insurance company directly or you.
- Do you receive the invoice? Then you have to submit it to your insurer yourself.
- Is your insurer billed directly? Then your insurance company will send you an invoice afterwards for the deductible and the non-insured costs. The deductible is a fixed contribution that you always pay yourself, depending on your policy.
Inform your insurance company at the latest on the day of your admission. In UZ Gent you will find Assurcard kiosks. You can register your admission there if your insurance uses that system. You will find the kiosks at:
- entrance 11 (central reception)
- entrance 50
- entrance 10 (children's hospital Princess Elisabeth)
- entrance 26 (Emergency department)
- entrance 56 (Day surgery clinic)
Always bring the necessary insurance information with you when you are scheduled for admission.
Workers' compensation insurance
For treatment following a work-related accident or an accident on the way to or from work, please provide the following information at the Admissions and registration desk:
- name and address of the workers’ compensation insurer
- policy and file number
- name and address of your employer
- date of the accident
The invoice will then be sent directly to the insurance company. Costs for staying in a single room and personal expenses are not reimbursed by workers' compensation insurance.
