Where can I park?
You must park in the central parking building. The building is suitable for vehicles up to 2.10 metres high.
Where can I drop someone off?
You can drop off patients or visitors at the kiss-and-ride zones near the central reception (entrance 11) and clinic buildings. Parking is not allowed there. The campus map (2.23 MB) "pdf" shows the locations of these zones.
With the access ticket you receive when entering the campus, you can leave free of charge within 30 minutes.
What if I have reduced mobility?
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available:
- next to the lift in the parking building
- at the central reception (entrance 11)
- at entrances 50 and 74
Campus bus
The campusbus is wheelchair-accessible and takes you free of charge to different locations on campus.
Parking closer to the clinic building
You may park outside the parking building if you have:
- an official disabled parking permit
- or a UZ Gent parking card for people with reduced mobility
Place the card clearly visible behind your windscreen.
Without a valid card, you may not park in spaces reserved for people with disabilities. Vehicles parked illegally may be clamped.
Are there charging points for electric cars?
There are three charging stations, each with two charging points:
- two in the parking building (ground floor)
- two at entrance 16
- two at entrance 99
Each charging station provides 22 kilowatts. The stations are part of the Blink network. If you do not have a Blink card, additional charges apply.
Parking at the charging points is only allowed while charging.
What are the parking fees?

A lost ticket costs 60 euros. You can obtain a replacement ticket at a payment machine.
How do I pay?
Take a ticket when you enter the campus.
- Are you a patient? Have your ticket validated at registration to receive the healthcare rate. This can be done at:
- Are you a visitor? You pay the visitor rate.
Pay at a payment machine using Bancontact or Visa. Machines are located:
- on the ground floor of the parking building
- in the entrance hall of entrances 12, 50, 40 (Rehabilitation Centre) and 26 (Emergency Department)
After payment, you have 30 minutes to leave the campus.
Who is eligible for a free parking card?
Outpatients receiving frequent treatment
You receive a free parking rate or parking card from day one if you receive:
- an average of three treatments per week for one month
- an average of two treatments per week for two months
- an average of one treatment per week for three months
Long-term inpatients
From the fifteenth day of admission, one free parking rate or visitor parking card is granted.
Non-cohabiting parents of minors each receive a parking card.
Applying for a parking card
The head nurse completes the application form. You or your companion can then collect the card at the information point (central reception, entrance 11).
The card is valid for a maximum of three months. Renewal is possible with the head nurse’s approval.
What are the traffic rules on campus?
Traffic regulations apply everywhere on campus. Any exceptions are stated in the access and parking regulations. Everyone must comply with these rules.
