In My UZ Gent, you get to work with privacy-sensitive information. We want to make sure that only you can open your personal portal. You therefore have to log in with one of the digital keys offered by the CSAM public service.
Not yet a patient at UZ Gent? You will automatically be asked to register. After registration, you will have access to My UZ Gent.
I have a Belgian eID or electronic foreigner's card
Go to https://mijn.uzgent.be.
Log in:
- with MyGov.be
- or with your eID or foreigner's card and a card reader
- or with itsme
- or with a security code via email or mobile app
I do not have a Belgian eID or electronic foreigner's card
People from the Netherlands and several other European countries also have access to My UZ Gent.
What do I need?
- A BIS number that is linked to your patient file at the UZ Gent
- An electronic identification means from your country that is recognized at European level
How do I apply for a BIS number?
The BIS number is a unique identification number for people who are not registered in the Belgian National Register, but still have a relationship with the Belgian authorities. You can request the number by mail.
- Write in the mail that you are being treated at Ghent University Hospital and that you want to see your medical file
- Add a copy of your identity card
- Send the mail to identification@ksz-bcss.fgov.be
How do I link the BIS number to my patient file?
- Do you have to go to UZ Gent soon? Bring the BIS number with you. A staff member of 'Admissions and registration' can make the link for you at your registration
- You can also contact Admissions and registration in advance to link the BIS number to your UZ file: aanmeldeneninschrijven@uzgent.be or tel. 09 332 20 15
How do I register?
- Surf to https://mijn.uzgent.be
- Register with an electronic identifier recognized at the European level
- You will find an overview of all countries that have issued such an identifier
- Click on your country and log in with your electronic identifier
My country does not have a European recognized identifier
Unfortunately it is not yet possible to register in My UZ Gent.
However, you can use this form to send a referral letter from your healthcare provider to a medical department.
